  7. On June 5, ALE was notified of the shooting inside Mamba Event Ctr and immediately began investigating the incident. As a result, a Burlington event ctr is without ABC permits and four employees were criminally charged after two patrons were shot inside the business.

  9. Yesterday, State Capitol Police officers responded to a bank robbery at SECU on N. Salisbury St. shortly before noon. Raleigh Police investigated on scene and State Capitol Police officers later arrested the suspect around Edenton St. near East St. around 12:40 p.m.

  10. Recently, staff from the Div. Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Court Svcs districts 28 and 29 participated in an outdoor adventure day. A total of 40 youths conquered their fears of heights and water during the event. They also learned about agriculture.

  12. Recently, Yancey Co. Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC), along with Div. of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, hosted an event for over 140 graduating seniors and staff of Mtn Heritage HS in Burnsville providing pizza, drinks and graduation cards.

  13. Recently, probation/parole officers along with the Longview PD conducted warrantless searches on two individuals under post-release supervision and seized numerous firearms and significant stolen property. Thanks for helping to keep our communities safe!

  14. The Division of Adult Correction has named Cathy Judge as the new warden at the Harnett Correctional Institution in Lillington. She had been the associate warden of programs at the prison since 2020. Congratulations!

  15. After crisscrossing the state throughout May, accompanied by more than 2,000 law enforcement personnel, the torch began its final sprint Friday morning at Carter-Finley Stadium and ended downtown at the Capitol.

  16. DPS staff from Prisons, Juvenile Justice & Highway Patrol ran with law enforcement from across the state Friday for the last leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for N.C. Special Olympics. The annual Torch Run raises funds for N.C. Special Olympics—more than $30 million to date.

  19. The Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention recently hosted the Leadership Raleigh 45 group at the division’s Central Office. Participants learned about the division's Clinical Services and Programs from Cindy Porterfield, Juvenile Community Programs Director.

  20. A big thank you to Special Ops and Intelligence Unit (SOIU) telecommunicator Jessica Fisher (far right) who recently volunteered for the American Red Cross’ “Sound the Alarm” campaign. The team helped install 165 smoke alarms, protecting the lives of 386 people.
